When I found out I was pregnant, I didn't know what to think; I didn't know what to do; I didn't plan this."
My boyfriend Shawn and I are seniors and good students. Our parents trust us and are proud of our scholastic accomplishments. I didn't think it could happen to me, but it did and I was terrified that I might be pregnant. My best friend, Ana, told me about A Better Choice, a place where I could get a free pregnancy test. The test result was positive. I was pregnant. I was afraid to tell Shawn, because I knew his plans for college didn't include a baby. I was afraid to tell my parents because I didn't want to disappoint them. To me, abortion seemed to be the only choice I could make.
Then something happened that changed everything. It was seeing a 5 minute video of a 4-D sonogram of a baby in the womb. Right then I knew abortion was out of the question. Along with viewing the video, I was given information about parenting, adoption and community resources. I talked to Shawn and together we made the choice of adoption. Telling my parents was still hard, but having their support in the decision about adoption helped me face my pregnancy without fear. Thank you for helping me.
